The capture of rainwater from roofs provides a valuable source of water for residential or commercial purposes. The PIONEER GALAXY™ water storage system provides an excellent water storage solution for rainwater harvesting applications.
BlueScope Water offers a specific range of tanks from 10,000 to 65,000 gallons for residential use and for commercial applications offers tanks up to 700,000 gallons.
The PIONEER GALAXY™ range of water tanks is designed to be aesthestically pleasing and yet be cost effective so as to fit any project. Tanks are finished in either a coated steel finish or available in a range of pre-painted steel colors. PIONEER GALAXY™ water tanks for residential applications are specifically designed to fit in with the surroundings by being low profile at a height of 7 ft 3 in which also keeps them below typical gutter height and allows for gravity supply from the roof.
Water quality is of particular importance in any rainwater collection system. Every PIONEER GALAXY™ water tank has a steel roof to eliminate light in the tank and keep foreign matter out of the tank. In addition, the AQUALINER PLUS® water storage liner used in the PIONEER GALAXY™ water tank is NSF/ANSI 61 certified, NSF Certified Drinking Water System Components.
Rainwater harvesting has been implemented widely in countries around the world and is fast catching on in the United States as an alternative water supply. Rainwater is free and can provide high quality water that can reduce the need for complex and costly distribution systems, or be an alternative to poor quality ground water.
Rainwater harvesting also offers other benefits to the community including reduced stormwater runoff.
Rainwater harvesting can provide a significant volume of water through capturing rainwater that falls on a roof area. As a guide, for every 1 inch of rainfall that falls on 1,000 sqf of roof area you can expect to collect approximately 600 gallons of rainwater.
